It is my pet peeve every time the Olymics comes round that paid professionl athletes , especially tennis players who are competing for their country are featured.
What about the young girl relying on her town to have bake sales, car washes etc to help sponsor her so that she can represent her country.
Out of 529 athletes only 21 suposedly favorites are shown , this is a disgrace to humanity.
No. Only top professional tennis players can compete for the title.
you have to be 15 and older to compete in table tennis in the Olympics

wel why do you need professional football or basket ball players. its just to see whoes the best in the world and to compete for the top spot and alot of money.but its a great sport t!
No, it wasn't. Tennis started at the Olympics in 1869, when the first modern Olympic games in Athens took place. It was then dropped in 1924 due to the fact that the administrators could not agree on the issue of defining what an amateur was, an what a professional was. Back in those days, amateurs we're not allowed to compete in the Olympics, no matter how good they we're.
