The US Federal Courts have decided that the NFL controls its own hiring practices. It will not intervene in that practice. The decision was rendered in Maurice Clarett vs. The NFL when Clarett tried to get the courts to allow him to enter the NFL draft early. He initially won his trial, but the decision was overturned by The United States Court of Appeal for the Second Circuit lead by Judge Sonia Sotomayor.
