A Baseball team can have as many Aces as they can afford? For example The Orioles in the early 70's had four twenty game winners in the same season with Jim Palmer, Mike Cueller, Pat Dotson, and Pat McNally All were considered Aces but nobody could afford them in this market today. The closest anyone has now is the Phillies with Halliday, Lee, Hamel and that other guy. Atlanta had Smoltz, Glaven, Maddox and that other guy for several years. Reds had a descent starting pitching with Tom Seaver, Don Gullett 19-3 as a rookie, Wayne Simpson 14-1 at all star break and Jack Billingham. Of course they had the greatest team ever between the lines in 75' and 76' with George Foster LF, Ceasar GeronimoCF, Ken Griffey sr.RF, Pete Rose 3B , joe Morgan 2B, Tony Perez 1B, Johnny Bench C and Davey Concepcion SS and could throw any of their pitchers out there with a 80% chance of winning day in and day out.
