Why cant your snowboard bindings come off your snowboard?
You can take the bindings off your snowboard, but while boarding the only purpose of the bindings is to hold your boots to the board.

yes Burton is a brand and only sticks with there brand no that above statement is not true...there are many bindings that ARNT Burton and will fit...one of my friends has a Burton feather and ride bindings so some do fit...just to make sure ask whoever your buying them from if they know anything about it

I'm not sure where you heard that K2 bindings have design flaws, but I wouldn't agree with that at all. Although I ride traditional strap bindings, K2 makes the Cinch which is their take on a Flow styled convenience binding. As for their regular traditional bindings, I would say that it depends on which model you're looking at. All brands make cheap $129 beginner bindings that are exactly that, for beginners.

Snowboard packages vary from company to company or shop to shop. But if you are going snowboarding then the least you should expect from a package is a snowboard and bindings. But if you take the time research you can also get some new boots for a little extra cost.

I would say they're more of all mountain bindings. You can take them in the park and they hold up, but I wouldn't say they're ideal for freestyle riding. Although they've gotten much lighter in the past few years, they are still heavier than a traditional strap in binding. If you are looking for a great and convenient freestyle specific binding I would go with some of the Ride Contrabands. They strap in with one strap so they're fast but they are designed for freestyle riding, with appropriately flexing straps and tons of cushioning underfoot.

A good begginner board for you completely depends on what style of riding you plan to do. I am about 6 feet tall and weigh about 200 give or take and I ride two boards. One is a freestyle, Which means that it is meant for goofing around on the mountain and one is an all park board. You will diffinately need a wide with board so when you go to purchase it tell them. I ride a 159 wide and a 157 wide the Burton bullet is a great starter board. That was my first board, also it usually comes in a 450.00$ package that includes boots and bindings. if that doesnt trip your trigger there are good packages with companies like k2 and forum. take the front binding, turn it 180 degrees and put it on the rear mount, then take the back binding rotate 180 degrees and mount it on the front.... it's very easy because there aren't any special left- or right-footed parts
