He graduated from Yale University in 1970 with a degree in American Studies. He served eight terms in the North Dakota legislature, and three terms as Lieutenant Governor of North Dakota when John Hoeven was Governor. He is the 32nd Governor of North Dakota and was the 35th Lieutenant Governor. Jack Dalrymple's wife is named Betsey and they have four daughters.
