No. I recently did an experiment where we had to put salt in methylated spirits and it didn't dissolve. Most things can't dissolve in methylated spirits.
alot of people believe that spirits and demons can not cross over a line of salt or that a circle of salt will protect you. such as on the tv series supernatural, but there are other lore's that believe this aswell. personally i keep a bottle of salt with me in case i feel a spirit but that's just because I'm a believer, i would have thought that no one really knows if salt keeps spirits away because who really knows if spirits are real? depends if you believe or not i guess.
