Ballet is an art, not a sport.

I believe Ballet should be in the Olympics, simply because it is extremely rigorous on the body and the mind. While, yes, football players are hard-working, the wouldn't stand a chance in a ballet class. The amount of flexibility, strength, and control/coordination you need over your body is tremendous. Another thing you have to take into account is that it takes a long time to get used to the strain it puts on our bodies, and therefore we need to get used to many ankle and leg injuries, muscle pulls, and bloody toes. It also takes very good memory. We have to memorize difficult choreography and be able to do it perfectly, otherwise we will be told to start again. My question is, why is ice skating in the Olympics, but dance in general isn't?"
