When swimming laps (as opposed to racing) you should breathe out in a continuous flow underwater so that you are ready to draw your next breath as your mouth breaks the surface.
Penguins breathe every few seconds, just like we do. The exception is when they're swimming underwater, in which case they hold their breath.
Dolphins can't breathe underwater because they are mammals. They go to the surface to breathe and then hold their breath while underwater
Hippos can't "breath" underwater but they can hold their breath for long periods of time.
They do not breathe underwater. They hold their breath under the water and surface to breathe.
no. they cannot. they do not have gills so therefore they cannot breath underwater.
You can't breathe underwater at all.
When the frog is swimming, its can breath by only putting the tip of its nose out of the water. Uses it to breaththey help the frog breathe underwater :)
Because that is how they can breathe underwater
I will assume you are not joking. A fish does not hold it's breath it can breathe underwater using its gills.
They don't. They are merely very good at holding their breath.
yes penguins do need air to breath underwater.
They breathe underwater using gills, like fish do.
