No, not in the nationally recognized way. Morgan horses do not race on flat tracks, and they do not have a recognized racing organization.

The Jockey Club gives all Thoroughbreds in the northern Hemisphere the birthday of January first and in the southern hemisphere the birthday of September first of their birth year to make it easier to sort the horses into races. They still have their actual birthdays written onto their registration records but they just use a general birthday to make things easier.
It varies a lot you can have 2 horses to 20 horses sometimes more or less depending on if any one dropped out. The Kentucky Derby has 20 horses. But yeah, it's different from race to race. It's rare that there is more than 20 horses, but it happens. Usually 10-20, but sometimes only 2.

However, the best barrel racing hoorses are probably Quarter Horses --------------------------------------------------- it is actually called a standardbred. ANd yes, they can barrel race, some better than others but this breed is known for its versitility
