Are the rules against high school cheer squads doing stunts even if we don't do competitions?

Yes even if you dont compete the rules still apply at games and pep rallies. Rules such as you have to have mats to do basket tosses or twist down apply to everyone

Typically, tumbling is preferred in high school cheerleading. However, a back walkover is more than many people can do and will likely increase your chances of making the squad.
