Are planet eclipse egos better than dyes?

That is personal opinion. Both manufactures make solid guns but they are totally different. Planet Eclipse is a company based out of Europe and is known for their "pop it" valve guns. These guns use a bolt and a rammer to shoot the paintball. These valves are extremely air efficient and very easy to clean. Though are very loud, and have a tendency to spray paintballs at a distance like a shotgun shell. Dye is known for the "spool" valve. This is a 2-3 piece bolt that is completely internal. These guns are not as air efficient and must be lubed every so often. Though they are much quieter and slightly more accurate. Both brands have great guns and have continued to produce new models year after year.
