Not all bikes have "gear". Straddle bikes and direct drive bikes - with cranks directly attached to a wheel axle - don't have gears.
Some cranks are cast, some are forged. Pre-1987 are two piece rear main seal. 1987 and up are one piece. Rod and main journal diameters are all the same.
Yes Pretty much all 3 piece cranks should fit any sprocket you buy for them.
Yes and no. Most 7 foot tables are made with a 1 piece slate (or other cheaper material), so the felt does not need to be remove. However, all 9 and 10 foot tables, and nearly all 8 foot tables use a 3 piece which requires felt removal and significant work to properly re-assemble.
Oh, plenty. You have the basic categories of road bikes, MTBs, and city bikes. But then there are all the sub-categories. Road bikes sorts into TT/triathlon bikes, cyclocross bikes and touring bikes. MTBs sort into cross-country, all mountain and Downhill bikes. Then there are the stunts and jumps bikes the BMXes, dirt and trial bikes. Then there are trikes, recumbent bikes and tandems. You have internal, or external gear, single-speeds and fixies....
All-mountain bikes are versatile and can handle a variety of terrains, while enduro bikes are specifically designed for racing downhill sections. Enduro bikes typically have more suspension travel and are lighter than all-mountain bikes.
99 bikes or Amart All Sports.
All of honda's trail bikes used to be called XR's and their motocross bikes were CR/CRF now all of their trail bikes are CRF and their motocross bikes are CRF-R
The cran is the part that together with the pedals go round when you pedal. For a 3-piece crank it consists of a right crank arm, left crank arm and the axle that goes between. There are some other bits as well, like bearinc cups ASO, but no point in letting reality get in the way of a good name. There are also ashtabula cranks where crank arms and axle are one solid piece.
The two main types of dirt bikes are motocross and trail bikes. Yamaha, Kawasaki, and Honda all make these types of dirt bikes.
