yes
A field goal is the number of shots you make out of the number of shots you take
It depends on shooting percentage. Big guys shoot better percentages because they get closer shots to the rim.
Field Goal Percent (shots made/shots taken x 100).

Area within the 3-point arc is considered a "Field".
It's the percentage of your field goal shots made and field goals attempted, also known as a field goal percentage
I really wish that too!BUT UNFORTUNATELY WE CANNOT DO ANYTHING ABOUT THAT.... :-(
It's when a player makes a basket during the normal play of the game. Dunks, layups, jump shots, & 3 point shots are examples of field goals. A free throw is NOT a field goal because it doesn't occur during the normal play of the game.It is when you throw the ball into the basket
A good field goal percentage in basketball is typically around 45 to 50. This means that a player makes about half of their attempted shots from the field.
He made 10962 out of 21686 shots with the Bulls, so that's about 50.55% field goal percentage.
Shots! Shots! Shots! Shots! Shots! Shots!
As in all sports that I know of, statistics play a role in raking basketball players or making predictions. For example shooting percentages ( i.e. three-throw pct., field goal pct- 3-point attempts.) The math involved is simple- divide the shots made by the shots taken. Of course, keeping score uses numbers and players have to know when they are in foul trouble, but I have to admit one can be an excellent player and not know any math . One can rely on the coach to know the score.
