The answer is 11.033. Make sure I got the question right. a 12.07 100 meter is running 8.285m/s, which converted to yd/s is 9.064yd/s. So 100 yds at 9.064yd/s will take 11.033 seconds. 5.48 seconds, Heres what you do, multiply 13.7 the time in seconds by the denominator of the number you are looking for, then divide by 100. I look at it this way 13.7 sec / 100 yard = x sec / 40 yard solve for x sec and its simple algebra. You can also determine your speed in mph by converting. If you run 100 yards that means you run 300 feet in 13.7 seconds, if you maintained this speed for an hour you would run 78,832.116 feet. If you run 78,832.116 feet in one hour then you divide by how many feet there are in a mile to tell you how many miles you run in one hour. 78,832.116 / 5280 = 14.93. I look at it this way. 78,832.116 feet / 1 hour = 1 mile / 5280 feet Its the factor label method, and its sweet.

*actually, the above answer assumes a contant speed over the course of 100 yards, but it actually takes about 40 yards of acceleration to reach your top speed. with a typical acceleration, someone who could run a 13.7 100 yards would likely run about 6.5 second in a 40 yard dash

it depends on your personal acceleration. at fastest, probably a 5.6-5.8. if you are a slow accelerator, you're looking at somewhere in the 6's.

i ran the 100/200 in track in high school, and got as low as 11.5 for my 100. i never played football but ran a 40 with a track buddy who was on the football squad and ran a 4.6ish (didn't have a fancy computer stopwatch or anything- hand-timed). it gives you a true appreciation for how some 300+ linemen can run in the 4.7's and how world class sprinters can run in the low 4's.

_____________

When taking in consideration the start, probably around 5.9 to 6.4.

Taking it from me, I'm not an expert but I have 2 years of high school football under my belt, as well as 4 of track. I've never gotten into the 11's in the hundred, but I run a 4.6 40.

It really has to do with how fast you reach your top speed as opposed to how fast that speed is. Assuming you reach your speed and hold it you're looking at a low-mid 5. Perhaps around a 5.3?

it actually really depends. chris johnson of the titans can run a 40m faster than Usain Bolt but is obviously not as fast at the 100m. also take into account the reaction time is suppose to be eliminated because the watch starts when you start. Mathematically speaking if 40 yards = 36.576 meters, than your time would be about 5.01, however my last 100 time was 13.1 but i can run a 4.6 easy. so you will have to actually time yourself

What would be the 100 meter time of an athlete that ran 10.2 100 yard dash Is it possible to compare 100 yard times to 100 meter times?

A reliable way to convert a hand-held 100-yard time to an electronic 100-meter time is to multiply the hh-time by 1.103. Therefore, 10.2 in the 100-yard dash time equates to an 11.25 100-meter dash time. Also, to convert an electronic 100-yard dash time to an electronic 100-meter dash time, multiply the first time by 1.088. For example, a 10.20 electronic 100-yard time equates to an 11.10 electronic 100-meter dash time.
