It was the race to Nome. It was with Balto. There was a very severe and lethal disease, called Diptheria, going around. A lot of people were infected with it. Many mushers were risking their lives to get the medication to Nome from Anchorage. It was a very treacherous trail. The mushers would get to their checkpoint with the medicine and hand it over to the next group of mushers. Finally, it got handed over to Balto and Balto's musher, Gunnar Kaasen. When they got to the next stop, there was no other team there. So Balto raced on. Through blizzards he ran. He finally got the medication to Nome, and he is now one of the most famous dogs ever. P.S. He was the second to last team.
