Oh. Don't make my mistake. Simply refrain from entering any sort of public water type place until it is fully healed. If I were you I would wait 3 months, just to be safe. It will infect your piercing.
What happened to me was that it was the 4th week of my nose piercing, still relatively fresh. Thought it was OK to go swimming, so I did. A week later a keloid appeared and I wasn't able for the life of me to get rid of it. So instead i had to take the piercing out. So just don't go swimming, anywhere.
Common Sense:
Go right ahead and enjoy any public swimming facility you wish, just be sure once you are done swimming, clean the piercing in the shower. All public facilities are tested to ensure the water is safe, you use common sense and shower after using pools or Jacuzzis and you should have no issues (be sure to use soap when showering and rinse all piercings thoroughly) . Failure to clean or properly rinse a piercing will lead to the issues listed in the above statement.
Absolutely not, swimming in pools/lakes/bath tubs are taboo when it comes to piercings. A swimming pool is full of bacteria and chlorine that can hurt the healing process.

This is true, but swimming in the ocean is okay. My piercer told me that going to the ocean actually helps the healing process because of the salt water- you should be using warm salt water in your cleaning routine anyhow.
I got my nose pierced four and a half weeks ago and I"m ready to swim at lakes. Maybe it's not a bright idea but you should be fine if you bring your cleaning solution with you and clean it after. And it probably depends on what kind of jewelry you have. I have a diamond stud and a ring might be more likely to get infected. Just try to clean it as soon as possible afterwards. Hope that helps (: Oh, and my sister has her navel (belly button) done and she got it 5 and a half weeks ago, and she was told she can go swiming now (that was afew weeks ago) and navels are more likely to get infected because it would be submerged more
You can go swimming as long as you don't get it wet. You can't submerge the piercing while swimming until its 2-3 months old.
Fact of the matter is you can actually go swimming the next day if you choose, the concern is where you go swimming. Lakes and natural bodies of water can be very dirty (carrying bacteria and other nasties).
Municipal pools and man made and controlled swimming facilities are maintained to prevent the chance of infection and contamination from water borne pathogens.
If you go swimming in a pool make sure when you are done you wash your piercing and flush it with lots of warm water to rinse out any matter that may cause an issue down the road.
One hour, just like eating and swimming. Seriously go have fun but be sure to wash the piercing out after your swim.
Yes, that's fine but if the water starts to irritate your nose then i believe you should see a doctor right away!
