Tony Dorsett is the first player in football's history to have ever won the Heisman Trophy, an NCAA National Championship, and a Superbowl ring. Interestingly enough, he won the Heisman and National Championship as a senior at Pitt in 1976, and the Superbowl the very next year as a rookie for the Dallas Cowboys.

Two other Heisman Trophy/National Championship winners have appeared in the Superbowl, but lost.

Charles Woodson won the Heisman and a National Championship at Michigan in 1997, and appeared in Superbowl 37 as a starting cornerback for the Oakland Raiders, but lost to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Matt Leinart won the Heisman and a National Championship at USC in 2004, and appeared as the backup quarterback for the Arizona Cardinals in Superbowl 43, who lost to the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Reggie Bush has become the second player in football's history to have won an NCAA National Championship ring (2004 USC), Heisman Trophy (2005) and a SuperBowl ring (New Orleans Saints 2010).
