As there are many people who are and have played the game under either code records are very poor because of the hobby players, schools and colleges etc. However, the smallest on record having played at high level was Jacques Fouroux (deceased) at 5ft 4"

The smallest player can only be ascertained form those registered at IRB level. The smallest professional player appears to be Shane Williams at 5feet 7in

peter stringer, gareth cooper and Shane Williams are both 5 foot 7 which is diddy

Peter Stringer is only 5'7" and 152 lbs so he is quite small. Not sure if he's the smallest though.
