As of the 2008 season, the University of Michigan currently has the longest consecutive bowl appearances streak with 33 (1976-2008). Nebraska holds the all time record at 35 (1969-2003). That will stand for at least another 10 years unless Michigan wins every remaining game on their schedule this year, and then gets invited to a bowl at 6-6. Very doubtful.

currently, the New Mexico State Aggies football program hasn't been to a bowl game since 1960 (Sun Bowl)
