∙ 13y agoA free hit can be awarded for a number of reasons. Firstly it the ball hits a foot outside the D and is not on purpose. Secondly if the ball is lifted and the umpire deems it as dangerous. If the back of the stick is used. Deliberate pushing or fouling. Finally if the ball is lifted into or in the D by the attacking team. Hope this helps :)
