∙ 13y agoThe football great played for Jackson State University, a historically black college, from 1971 to 1974. He was a Heisman Trophy candidate as a running back for the Jackson State Tigers, and finished his career with 464 points, an NCAA Division II record that lasted 24 years.
He was the fourth overall selection and first running back selected in the 1975 NFL Draft. He went on to have a Hall of Fame career with the Chicago Bears.
