Fewest Pitches Thrown in an InningSix. If the pitchers for the home & visiting teams can induce a ground-out on the 1st pitch to each of the 1st three batters he faces.

I believe it to be 3 (three) if it occurs in the ninth inning for the home team pitcher whose team has a lead, then the inning is complete without the home team having to pitch. Also a putout of any type would suffice, not just a ground-out. Other outs may qualify too, such as batting out of order, however it does not reduce the pitch count. The out of order batter must a have a minimum of 1 pitch.

Actually the lowest pitch count for a complete game would be 52 and not 55. assuming the visiting pitcher gave up the home run. The home team would not bat in the bottom of the 9th.

162 3 strikes times 3 outs times times 18 top and bottom innings

Actually the lowest possible would be 54. Assuming every batter hit the first pitch and got out and the game could end in a 0-0 tie. So actually the lowest possible amount of pitches per game would be 55, assuming every batter hit the first pitch and one batter hit a home run off of one pitch.

Zero.

If a pitcher delays the pitch or if the pitcher does an illegal move the umpire is to award the batter a ball. Done 4 consecutive times the batter is awarded 1st base. If then the Pitcher picks the runner off, the first out is recorded with no pitch being thrown. Also if a batter delays the umpire is to issue the batter a strike done three consecutive times the batter would be called out. So it is possible to record an out with no pitch being thrown. Repeat for each out of each inning.

Likely the answer that is being looked for is one pitch for each out of th game 27.

27 pitches. This is because there are 9 innings. The minimum batters that can go up each inning is 3. 9 times 3 is 27. If you pitched and the batter pop-flied every ball then it would be 27. But in the history books it has been recorded that 58 pitches were the least amount of pitches thrown in a game. It was set by Charley "Red" Barret, He did this in 1944 on August 10. He was on the "Boston" Braves. They changed their name to Atlanta Braves later on. Hope this helped!

The least amount POSSIBLE can be 24 pitches, if each batter of the home team (who is winning, yes a complete game CAN be won by a home team with only 24 batters coming up to bat, the losing pitcher would have only faced 24 batters and each got out on one pitch) NEVER GONNA HAPPEN

more realistically the right answer would be 27 pitches but each batter would have to get out on one pitch

What is the fewest pitches thrown in a single half inning of an all-star game?

As far as I know, the record is 4 pitches, thrown by the Detroit Tigers pitcher Edwin Jackson. In the fifth inning of the 2009 All-Star game Edwin Jackson retired St Louis Cardinal Yadier Molina on one pitch, Washington Nationals' Ryan Zimmerman hit into a ground out with one strike on him, and Hanley Ramirez, from the Florida Marlins popped up the first pitch he saw, thus giving Jackson the shortest pitching appearance in All-Star game history.
