A Netball team in training usually has a coach who picks up their weak spots in game. During training the coach gives advice to the team and use a technique that can help strenghten their weak spots. The most common use of training is to level up the teams fitness level.

Netball training sessions are usually based around 1 - 1.5 hours.

- It is important to focus on individual needs as well as whole team necessities.

Make sure you have planned ahead!!

Physical warm up: (5 mins)

This could involve a suicide drill, laps, high knees, butt kicks or a fun game as well as a short stretch too.

Skill warm up: (10 mins)

Its important to revise on things already taught!

Skill development (20 mins)

Learn new stuff, start of by introducing the development, and by using examples (ensure everyone understands!) build up from slow drills, to fast moving game like situations!

Modified Games (15 mins)

Have some fun, put everything you learnt into action! Examples include, golden child, titanic and bump. They have to be netball related though :) It allows them to practice techniques in more realistic scenarios and keep their hearts pumping :)

End of training (5 mins)

Get the group to do a slow walk with water up and down the court, before gathering in a circle and stretching. At this point revise everything you learnt today and ensure everyone remembers.

Enjoy!
