The answer provided by the website is incorrect. The Pittsburgh Steelers started 0-4 in 1976 and made the playoffs. Additionally, they did it in a 14 game season, which was more difficult than the San Diego Chargers won played a 16-game season.
The Chargers had 12 games left to overcome a bad start, where as the Steelers only had 10.
