Well there are 4 quarters each of which are 15 minutes. However you the clock often stops and you always aren't playing the whole time while the clock is running. The clock runs while you are calling a play unless of course there is an incomplete pass, the ball carrier steps out of bounds, there is a penalty, etc. (These are NFL rules)

The answer to this question varies. In the United States, a football match lasts 60 minutes. It has four quarters and each quarter is 25 minutes. In most other parts of he world where a football match is the same a soccer match, it takes 90 minutes. A match has two halves and each half is 45 minutes. A soccer match in the United States also last 90 minutes.

A football game lasts for 90 minutes excluding the halftime break, however time is added on for stoppages in the game which can add between 1 - 5 minutes per half
