Yes, the libero can serve in volleyball. However, they can only serve for one position. Once the libero serves in a particular position in a game that is the only position where the libero is allowed to serve. However, the libero is not required to serve in that position for all subsequent rotations.

I play libero so, of course i think it's a good position, but there's good things and bad about it.

pros: 1. if you're a good passer, and enjoy it, you get to pass all the time.

2. depending on your coach, you will most likely get a lot of playing time.

3. if you're looking to get into college, libero is one of the first positions coaches look for because it's hard to find a good libero

4. you get to go on and off the court with out having to wait for the reffs to be ready... you just go!

5. if you like attention, you wear a different colored uniform so you're one of the first to be noticed!

cons: 1. liberos don't get that much credit considering how hard they work

2. they can't ever play front row

3. some leagues don't let them serve

4. depending on the coach, you could have high expectations to pass the ball right on target.

overall though, if you like to pass, and are good at it, libero is a really good and super fun position!!

Yes, you cannot kill (spike) the ball if you can't get a good pass up to the setter. It is the Liberos job to get good passes up to the setter.
