I'm not sure if it's as traditional as ballet, but I know it dates back pretty far...at least to the early 1900's.
we dance for laughter, we dance for tears,
we dance for madness, we dance for fears,
we dance for hopes, we dance for screams,
we are the dancers, we create dreams.
Ballet is the hidden language of the soul!
When you do ballet you get this feeling inside you
like when rappers fill with aggresion when they rap.
it is so much more than just a dance its like you are being driffted away
its one of the only forms of dance which tells a story without verbal feedback.
plus it was the first forms! of dance to make it worlwide

Well, Mary Poppins is a musical with very well coreographed tap dancing. You could also look up John Slyde and you'll probably find some good stuff from him. Hope this helps! :)
It has changed from the original form of Irish step dancing to our modern day tap dancing
If you ever tried tap dancing in clogs it would render this question superfluous
The bottoms of clogs are lose and taps are solid. You do more lifting up your feet in cloging.
Like all performing arts, tap dance is performed in order to entertain and amuse an audience.
So you can make your own beat at your own rate. You then can show someone what you have mastered. It is really fun and how do I say this "rythemy". TRY IT!!!!!!
well there are many types of tap but american tap started in the southern united states with the slaves and it was called Juba
I'm Gonna Live Till I die
Sung by multiple artists the most famous being Frank Sinatra
Tap dancing is actually an American form of dance. It is a blend of Irish step and African gumboot dancing. When both African Americans and the Irish were oppressed they somehow came together and tap was formed; a blend of steps from the Irish and rhythm and style from the African Americans. African Americans were not allowed to perform at first so minstrel shows were done by white people and they would black out their faces to make fun of the black dancers.
