Quidditch is a sport played by those of great wealth in England. Specially customised brooms are created and they give the user the ability to fly and play the game of Quidditch. The snitch is usually a flying rat that is often hard to catch.

The Quaffle, a red-brown ball the size of a soccer ball, when thrown in the hoops scores 10 points for the team who threw the ball.

The Golden Snitch, a small round ball, lightweight, about he size of an almond, It is pure gold with a small pattern on it, it has 2 feather-like, silver wings, and it's the seeker's job o catch the snitch as it flies

The uniform depends on the houses.

Gryffindor wear Scarlett robes, gloves and in winter have goggles as well

Slytherin's robes are emerald green (same gloves and goggles)

Hufflepuff have yellow robes (gloves and goggles)

And Ravenclaw have blue (gloves and goggles)

Quidditch is a fictional sport played in the fiction novels and movies of Harry Potter. It is played on broomsticks, and each team has 7 players-the seeker, the keeper, 2 beaters, and 3 chasers. The seeker tries to catch a fast little ball called the snitch which will end the game. The beaters keep bludgers away from their players; bludgers are larger balls that chase the players around trying to knock them off their brooms. The chasers use the quaffle, which is a red ball, and they try to score through 3 different hoops, sort of like basketball. The keeper guards the hoops to stop the other team from scoring.

There are officially 700 possible fouls that can be committed. Although only about 10 are particularly common, like grabbing your opponents broom or colliding with them.

It should also be mentioned that several hundred of them are pretty much impossible to be committed now as players are not allowed to carry their wands during matches and the old nobility laws about carrying swords no longer apply.

The Quaffle is like a soccer ball (or basketball or hockey puck) that you have to get through the hoops to score ten points. (Each team has three Chasers that try to get the Quaffle past the Keeper and through the hoops).

The Bludgers are the two balls that attack the players. Each team has two Beaters that try to knock the Bludgers away from their players and towards the other team's players.

The Golden Snitch is the most important ball. The team that catches the Snitch earns 150 points and wins the game. Each team has one Seeker that tries to catch the Snitch.

If you get the Quaffle in one of the goals it is ten points. (In some rule sets, in the lower (or shorter) goals it is five points.) If the Seeker catches the Snitch it is an automatic 150 points and the game is over.

The largest ball used in Quidditch is the quaffle. We know this because in the first book, chapter ten (Hallowe'en), it says in reference to the bludgers that they are smaller than the red quaffle. It also later says that the snitch is the size of a large walnut.

Becuase you're flying at such a large height and you could easily fall off your flying broomstick. Also, because animated balls are flying at your head (called Bludgers), *trying* to knock you off your broom and maybe break a bone or two in the process. Also, going at high speeds is dangerous, as you could run into anything.

There are many fouls possible, such as 'cobbing' excessive use of elbows. And while you are not supposed to use your wand during the match, the audience sometimes does and referee's have often disappeared.

In reference to the school teams there were four. There was one for each of the houses. These were Gryffindor, Ravenclaw, Hufflepuff, and Slytherin. There were also many mentions of professional teams, such as the Chudley Cannon, Puddlemere United, and the Holyhead Harpies.

It's a bit like basketball and soccer. wouldn't you agree? but quidditch is mostly creativity.
