Enos Stanley "Stan" Kroenke (born July 29, 1947 in Columbia, Missouri) is an American business entrepreneur. His wife, Anne Walton, is a Wal-Mart heir. Kroenke is also the owner of professional basketball team Denver Nuggets, a professional soccer team Colorado Rapids and professional hockey team Colorado Avalanche, a major shareholder of English football club Arsenal, and owner of 40% of the St. Louis Rams professional football franchise. He currently lives in Columbia, Missouri.[1]

First, Last and only Captain of the Colorado Avalanche is Joe Sakic. (Though during the 200 season Sylvain Lefebrve wore the c for a while with Sakic being out with an injury.) That is unless you are talking about the Quebec Nordiques as well in which case Jean-Guy Gendron was the first captain (in the WHA), Marc Tardiff was captain of the Nordiques their first year in the NHL. Hope that helps. Though starting the 2009-10 season with Sakic's retirement, Adam Foote (denfenceman) was nominated as the franchise's second captiain. Adam Foote is the last Avalanche playing still active with the avalanche to have been a part of the franchise's two Stanley Cups. (1996 and 2001)

in a game against Vancouver in March 2004, Todd Bertuzzi sucker-punched Steve Moore from behind and drove his head into the ice. Moore had a severe concussion, multiple broken vertebae and was unconcious for 10+ minutes after the hit. Moore has not played since. Bertuzzi was suspended for the rest of the season. There are still multiple lawsuits pending against Bertuzzi regarding the incident in British Columbia.

In the 2013-2014 season, The Colorado Avalanche played the Arizona Coyotes on February 28, 2014. The Avalanche won the game by a score of 4-2.
