Can you canoe in the Mississippi river?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

No, you cannot canoe in the Mississippi River because it is WAY too muddy.

On top of that, it is very thick and slow moving.

Also, because of an earthquake, the river started moving BACKWARDS. That has slowed down the currents, so you would basically be moving at less than 1 mile per hour.

How many people do you need to canoe?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

You can be almost any age to water-ski. I have seen kids starting out at four with double skies that are hooked together to prevent doing the splits.

You can be any age as long as they are comfortable having a go, the main thing is, is that a responsible person is taking control of the boat to reduce chances of injury.
