The distance is 110m rather than 100m because they wanted men to be able to run it whilst fitting 3 steps in-between the hurdles without changing the number of hurdles in the race from 10. 10 hurdles in the race is consistent with all the hurdle events, so they increased the distance to make the men's race more fluid, as mens' strides are typically longer than womens'.
Hello, The rule is that you are not allowed to deliberatly knock over hurdles. If you would through them over with your hands for example you'd be disqualified. However if you just run over them and you happen to knock them all over then it's up to the officials to decide if you knocked them down on purpose. But really, you can knock them all over and it's okay because I don't think anyone gets disqualified for this nowadays. However I advise you to run over them and not hit them because it is much faster.

As many as possible. The rules are against intentionally knocking them down; if they are unintentional, it doesn't matter. The American record that Allen Johnson set was done while he hit every single hurdle
Well mine is 14.00s and was the first time I had done hurdles, normally a high jumper or 100m-200m sprinter. Been told by my teachers I should focus on 100m-110m Hurdles now though.
Sorry if this isn't much help, I don't know the average times for 100m hurdles only my own.
the high school high hurdles are 39 inches
lows are 33
intermediates 36
and college highs are 42
Assuming you are talking about an above high school or college male athlete, there is typically 8 steps to the first hurdle and 3 steps in between each of the remaining 4 hurdles. The runout after the last hurdle will depend but likely 4-5 steps. The total is 24-25 steps.
There are two basic hurdle heights: high hurdles and intermediate hurdles. The sprint hurdle races (60 m, 100 m and 110 m) use high hurdles, which are 42 inches for men and 33 inches (.84 m) high for women. Long hurdle races (400 m) use intermediate hurdles, which are 36 inches (.914 m) high for men and 30 inches (.762 m) high for women. Slightly lower heights (generally 3 inches (76 mm) lower) are sometimes used in youth or high school events.

A sophomore in high school should be able to run something in the low 15 sec range.
The distance between 300 Hurdles (or 400 Hurdles) is 35 meters. The distance to the first hurdle (in high school races) is 45 meters and 10 meters from the last (8th) hurdle to the finish line. This is exactly the same as the first 300 meters of a 400 Hurdle race, though the relative position on the track is moved to finish at the common finish line. No, that results in disqualification, and is slower than going over it. Also, a common technique is kicking down the hurdles. This usually results in disqualification at the collegiate level, but you can get away with it with under-trained officials in high school.
Most experts believe that Bob was never officially timed. There was no need to. He was the world's fastest human by far and that included the NFL. Estimates range from him running a 4.2 to sub 4.2
Dayron Robles - 12.87-WR
