The Paralympic Games are for people with physical or intellectual disabilities. There are many different categories, grouping people with comparable disabilities.

In the Beijing (able-bodied) Olympics of 2008, South African swimmer Natalie du Toit made history by swimming as an amputee in the women's open water 10 km race.

The Youth Olympics is for teenagers between the ages 14 to 18. They will compete on a limited number of sports (28 competitive sports during the inaugural YOG). On the other hand, the Olympics are for adults. They will compete on a full scale.

Some things are smaller sizes for the youth. Depending on age, hurdles are lower, shot puts are lighter, discuses are lighter, ect. However, I don't know what events are in the Youth Olympic games.
