Why do some people prefer individual sports to team sports?

it depends on if you like to have other people there to support you and help you win or not. If you don't like to have other people to help you, then you will probably like individual sports better. If you do like to have others help you, then you will most likely like to participate in team sports.

I think it is because it is all your own doing in terms of achivement, it give you the knowledge of knowing you are the best at that sport compared to team sport where there are a number of you which can over shadow your individual performance i hope this helps

Because if you take part in an individual sport and end up to beat your opponent then you feel like you have achieved more compared to as if you did the same in a team sport. You are using more of your own physical or mental strength to overcome the challenge and you have received no help from anyone else. it is your victory instead of 10 peoples victory :)

Some people might prefer individual sports to team sports because mostly, they are easier to follow what is going on.

They also might particularly idolize a certain performer.

The other advantage, particularly as a competitor, is that you are solely the one who wins the duel or loses it - the outcome is entirely in your hands. Winning entirely on one's own merits can be very satisfying.

I think its because you don't have to rely on anyone but yourself and you can excel in that sport faster because "Your only as good as your weakest member."

Personally I think individual sports are better because u don't need to help others. And you don't need to be a team player...

In my opinion, when you work as a team you get more accomplished than if you were in an individual sport, but some people would actually like working alone better.
