(This may only partially answer this question) The amount of money that a racehorse makes depends on how many races it participates in and which type of race it runs (eg. Flat turf or jumps). My ex-racehorse won just over a total of £20,000 over his life as a racehorse. He was running from around June 2005 to September 2010. He also raced mainly in jumps but did do a few flat turf races as well. I hope this might have answer your question a little more!

It depends on which shows they show in and if they are showing in jackpot classes. They also can make and lose money from buying and selling horses!
