Mariuz Pudianowski won the world's strongest man 2008, on the final event- atlas stones. He was facing an American-Derek Poundstone-and because of the points between the two- whoever won the atlas stones won wsm2008.Anyway the American was winning marginally and he lifted the stone first- but as the stone was on the corner of the final podium Derek's grip failed, and he dropped the stone. Mariuz then only half a second behind- lifted the stone on to the podium and won wsm2008 (even if it was shown on channel 5 in 2009).To cut a long story short, Mariuz Pudianowski won the World's Strongest Man 2008
