What education and training is required to become a dance teacher?

Each state has its own requirements. All states require a bachelors degree in education for K-6 teachers or a bachelors in the area of specialty for middle and high school teachers. In most states, additional competency tests are required. Also, a submission of your fingerprints to be run through various criminal databases is required in all states.

To become a Ballet teacher you need experience,not just a job. You have to have a perfect technique which only comes from a lot of time and practice. You also need to do at least 5 grades in classical ballet (depending on which board u take ur exams with) starting grade 1 from around the age of 9 or 10 and then you need to complete an elementary or advanced grade which includes pointe work and combines everything from the first grades - it is very complex. lastly you must complete an associates course, which means you are an associate of the board of whatever country you live in's board of dancing teachers. Normally around 18 or 19 when doing this.

Well, It depends. I amprobably going to become a demonstrator and all I did was talk to some of the dance teachers, my parents and the owner of the studio. You should do the same thing and who knows... you might become a demonstrator or a teacher. GOOD LUCK!!!

pretty much if you are good at choreographing then you can be a dance teacher but you need to know all the names of the jumps and turns and all that stuff and be sure that you prob will have to put in extra time
