∙ 12y agoThey were produced in Europe at first and after WW2 more interest in a sports type car developed in the United States. General Motors made a sports car of fiberglass in 1950's. "America's Sports car" was produced by Chevy in 1953 and this was the Corvette. In the 1970's the Ford Mustang came to symbolize the sports car.

∙ 11y agoI would have to say the worlds first real sports car was the 3 wheel 1910 Morgan Runabout. Some would say the 1910 Prince Henry Vauxhall or the 1910 Astro Daimler 4 wheelers. Take your pick as they all qualify as a sports car and were built the same year.
