The Australian v8supercar race series is an evolution of the historic Ford verses Holden (General Motors) racing that started in the 1960's. The cars have a Ford or GM 5 litre push-rod v8 engine making just over 620HP running Ethanol E85. They use a control straight shift gearbox and control differential and have a maximum top speed on 306KMH (or 190 mile per hour) limited by the differential they are allowed to use in race trim.

Recently two cars from the same team raced in a traditional 1/4 mile drag race which one had the lower elapsed time of the event with an 11.0 second run, while the other set the speed record at over 135 mph.

The V8 Supercar features a 600bhp 5.0 litre motor and runs on huge slicks, while the F1 car is half its weight and generates an extra 150bhp from its 2.4 litre V8.

The result is as predictable as it could possibly be, and we have seen this style of race a few times before. So yes an f1 is faster than a v8, sorry if your a little disappointed but the max bph on a f1 is mainly 750bph with the extra boost it all adds up to 900bph, in that case it would out run the v8.
