Answer 1

That part of the spirit world inhabited by wicked spirits who are waiting the eventual day of their resurrection is called hell.

Between their death and resurrection, these souls of the wicked are cast out into outer darkness. There they suffer the torments of the damned.

Death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them; and they were judged every man according to their works. Rev. 20:13

Answer 2

May I add to the above answer. It is not only the wicked who will experience this form of torment (Hell). For we cannot be made perfect until we receive our bodies once again, it will be hell to us until this happens, we cannot progress. This statement does not apply to Satan and his angels for they will spend the eternities in some place of God,s choosing without a body.

It will be worse for the followers of Satan who will never receive a body in that he will also abandon them, never having any intention of keeping any promises which he made.

This place where Satan and his followers will spent the eternitis in is often refered to as Hell, I prefer the above description "Outer darkness), a place where the light of Christ will never reach.

Answer 3

Hell was created for the fallen angels of heaven. It's not just for the worldly wicked (i.e. murderers and rapists). If you think that you can make or "buy" your way to heaven solely on your earthly works like doing good deeds, than you will have a huge wake up call that will cost you eternal life.

Yes, accepting Jesus Christ dying for our sins and believing in your heart that he rose again for our salvation is the only way to the father in heaven. You still have an obligation to do good deeds and live a life according to The Bible.

We have to be clear on one thing; we are ALL sinners and our bodies crave sin, so no one can please God. In Romans it says that "no one is good, no not one". That is strong, but it also says that when we were enemies with God, he sent his Son to the earth to die for those sins that we carry everyday. Let's be honest, who would give up there only child for crack addict, murderer, rapist, or lier? That is why our God is merciful and full of Grace.

How was the Devil created? To answer this question first you must examine the definition for the devil. The devil in my religions is interpreted very differently. Some consider the devil to be an angel who rebelled against god and others believe the devil to be a metaphor for humanities' evil endowments.

Devils creation if he was an angel - In Islamic religion According to the Qur'an God created the Satan out of "smokeless fire" and created man out of clay. He was condemned to hell after disobeying god by choosing not to pay homage to Adam. Because he believed to be better than man. He claimed to be superior to Adam, on the grounds that man was created of earth unlike himself. This caused him to be expelled by God, a fact that Satan blamed on humanity. Hence the mainstream creation of the devil as an entity.

Devil as metaphor- In Baha'i' faith the devil is a metaphor for the "insistent self" or "lower self" which is a self-serving inclination. "This lower nature in man is symbolized as Satan - the evil ego within us, not an evil personality outside." In Esoteric Christianity Satan remains as a being of evil, or at least a metaphor for sin and materialism. With this said the devil was and is a creation spawned by human's sin, temptation and to any human action opposing god. Answer He wasn't created. He was once an angel of God previously known as Lucifer who chose to rebel against God. Then he was thrown out of Heaven and no longer referred to by his given name. He became a devil by choice not creation. From that moment on God refers to him as ".. that evil one, the devil, Satan".

Yes, and 1/3 of God's angels followed him. Some other names are "the accuser of our Brethren, that old serpent.

Another perspective, is that the devil was created when god was created, for most things in the animistic periods were dualities, or juxtaposed with opposites, water and fire, heaven and earth, ect. The contrast between good and evil was created here, and although they many not have called it "The devil" the concept is as ancient as ourunderstanding of good and evil. As for how? looking at this as merely a concept rather than an entity, we created it when we learned to recognised the difference between good and evil, for early religion would have thought that a force caused disobedience or chaos. Islamic Answer Contrary to the Christian belief of Satan being the 'fallen angel'; Iblis (Islamic name for the "Satan"), or Ash-Shaytan is not an angel at all. In surah(chapter) 18, ayah(verse) 50 Allah swt says: "When we said to the Angels, "Bow down to Adam," they bowed down except Iblees. He was one of the Jinn." This is clear proof that Shaytan is not an angel and was never an angel because of his definance of Allah swt's command to bow down to our father, Prophet Adam alayhi salaam.

The Jinn are one of three intelligent beings created by Allah subhanawatala, and are created from smokeless fire and have free will just as humans do, which is unlike the angels who are made from light and do not have free will and always obey Allah the most high.

Narrated by Aishah RA, our beloved Prophet SAW stated; "The Angels were created from light, ad the Jinn were created from a smokeless flame of fire, and Adam was created from what has been described to you."(Muslim)

Islam teaches that Iblis was once a righteous jinn, amongst the angels. Iblis was given a high status, close to that of the angels by God, because he was at once a pious and humble jinn. However, when Allah subhanawatala commanded all of the angels and Jinn to bow down before Adam (the first Human), Iblis jealously refused to obey God's command. Iblis felt that Adam was inferior to the jinn because Adam (Alayhi Salaam) was made from clay and Iblis was made from fire.

For further information go to the Question: "Islamic story of prophet Adam Eve hawai?" Answer The Devil was created by the Roman Catholic Church as a way to guilt-trip people into believing God and Jesus. Without the Devil the Christian and Catholic Church would not have a base to stand upon. They rely on the idea that if you don't worship God and Jesus, and the rare occasion the Pope, then you will go to Hell where Satan is. Satan in Hebrew means "adversary". This is where the idea of the Devil came from. The image though was from the pagan God, Pan (horns, goat legs, etc.) and Baphomet. Answer The devil was God's angel and he had a lust for power so he turned against God and lost the war. Answer The story of the fallen angel Lucifer is a Zoroastrian myth grafted onto Judaism during the exile and popularized by Milton in "Paridise lost". Most Christians' beliefs about the "devil" "Satan" or "lucifer" are not grounded in fact or in the canonical Bible. Christian Answer Unlike God, Satan has not always existed. Instead he was created by God. Answer Satan was the most beautiful and intelligent creature God ever created.

When God created intelligent Life forms, he evidently had in mind an upper limit as to how much wisdom and beauty He would bestow on any one creature In Ezek 28:12 this was referred to as "the sum".

God bestowed:

To the Frog a small percentage of "the sum"

To the Dog a larger percentage of "the sum"

And so forth.....

On Satan, god bestowed the Full limit "the sum" of wisdom and beauty. Thus Exek 28:12 says that Satan "sealest up "the sum" full of wisdom and perfect in beauty. Satan is the most intelligent and beautiful creature ever made.

The concept of Hell predates the Christian Bible by hundreds, if not thousands, of years. In almost every recorded religion, there is a place where the non-believers or the wicked will reside. ancient Egypt, Ancient Greece, Ancient Central American religions, Celtic religions, Judiasm, Christianity, Buddhism, Islam, Hinduism....you get the idea. It, like so many Biblical ideas and stories, are not original to the Bible. In short, Man created the concept of Hell.

No one but God and Satan knows, but i think that hell formed when the Fallen Angel fell from heaven when he first sinned agains the Lord. I think that Satan/Lucifer created it out of his own power.

//Actually, God created hell as the domain for Satan and his legion of fallen angels. Only God the Father and the Son can create. Even before his fall from grace, Lucifer did not create, which was the basis of the war in heaven. Lucifer wanted to be God. He wanted to be able to create and be exaulted over his own Creator. Scripture tells us that some of the demons are even chained to the sides of the bottomless pit, waiting for the return of Christ and their eventual one-way trip into the lake of fire.

A:The notion of hell originated in the Zoroastrian religion of the Persians, who defeated the Babylonians and freed the Jews from captivity. Hell had no lasting impact on Judaism, but is a central part of Christian and Islamic beliefs.

All of the Community Answers discuss "WHY Hell was created" but not "HOW Hell was created".

The Bible does not specify what mechanism God used to create Hell, but since most of God's acts of creation are done through speech, Hell was likely created this way, assuming that Hell exists.

God did. The fact that belief in the existence of reward and punishment in the afterlife is a very widespread and very ancient tradition, does not weaken it. On the contrary, it simply points to the original traditions which Adam and Noah handed down. These also include burying the dead, not eating human flesh, belief in the afterlife, the significance of the number seven, and more.

The existence of a spiritual place or places in which the souls of the dead are treated in accordance with their behavior when alive (reward or punishment), is a tradition of mankind, which finds expression (in differing details) in various religions. It cannot be conclusively proven as long as we're alive. God tests us as to whether we will live in a way that demonstrates that we're aware of His presence, even though His presence is not readily visible.
We hold it to be evident that an infinitely wise Creator, whose wisdom is vastly manifest (for example) in the wonders of our bodies, would not be so unwise as to neglect unfinished business. If a tyrant "escapes judgment" by swallowing a painless poison, to our mind it is axiomatic that his tribulations have just begun. God is just (Deuteronomy 32:4).See also:

It was created for people who do not obey God's Ten Commandments, and a place for people like Satan who betrayed God. At first, everyone went there, as there was no heaven at the time.
