The first professional Baseball league in the United States was the National Association who began play in 1871. Finding schedules for the games played is very difficult if not impossible. To know which team played the first game in the northeast is extremely difficult to determine. I can tell you that there were three northeastern teams in the National Association in 1871. Those teams were the Troy (NY) Trojans, New York Mutuals, and Boston Red Stockings. So that would mean the first professional game in the northeast was played in one of those three cities.
