Yes, it's a result of the hormones released after you ovulate. If you are a virgin, you have nothing to worry about. You may or may not experience this every month before your period begins. It's quite normal.

∙ 14y agoOf course! its a sign that she might be developing a little quicker than most other 12 year old girls. It all to do with the hormonal changes that come with her period. It might calm down after a few years, it might happen only once in a while or she might have sensitive nipples all her life; as do I.

∙ 11y agoYes, it is completely normal. Hard nipples, lumps under the nipples, and soreness are normal parts of puberty. If it's sore enough to be a problem, you can always see a doctor.
