The best thing about dancing is that there are no real rules. But there are things to keep in mind as you add your own flavor and creativity to it.
If you can afford it, get dance lessons, even just ones at the local youth centre. Practice dances you know and when you here music, try to imagine a dance or moves you could do. Most importantly, PRACTICE
You do not only dance Ballet, you feel it too! You have to be graceful and you have to do a lot of research on ballet if you want a good dance school and teacher.
If you want to dance professionally, you will need to have been dancing ballet to succeed! Ballet is the key to everything! That is what you would do!

In tap dancing there are not any "rules" as such. However, to pass grades you need to be able to have a clear sound, remember the steps and remember to perform it. The only rule is that in some festivals (dance competitions) you are not allowed to have tele tone tap shoes. Hope that helps.
