Seriously? Some simple maths will give you your answer:
1km = 10 * 100m
Swimmers take 55 secs to go 100m. Assuming their speed is constant, it would take them 10 * 55 secs to go 1km. 10 * 55 = 550, so it takes 550 secs to travel 1km.
Divide this by minutes: (550/60=9.1667) which means that they swim at 9.1667km per hour.
1.82 m/s
150 seconds
Most likely 18 seconds or slower.
A good time would be 29 seconds.
There really isn't an average time because it varies about how fast people are. But I would say around 59.999 seconds?
My 8 year old son just swam it in a minute and 5 seconds
I think anything under 30 seconds is pretty good.
There are no 25 yard events event at the international level. Typically only very young swimmers (12 years and under) swim 25 yard events. However, given that the world record for the 50 yard freestyle is 18.47 (set by Cesar Cielo at the 2008 NCAA Championships), I would guess that the fastest 25 yard free ever swum would be 9.0 seconds or faster.
100m freestyle Michael phelps 46.65 seconds
D. 26.9 m/s
The fastest 50 freestyle ever recorded in a long course (50m) pool is 20.91 seconds, achieved by Cesar Cielo of Brazil in 2009. In a short course (25m) pool, the fastest time is 20.24 seconds, set by Florent Manaudou of France in 2014.
There was a tie with 52.70 seconds, which is the new Olympic record, between Penny Oleksiak and Simone Manuel. They will each receive a gold medal and there will be no silver medalist. Penny Oleksiak is from Canada and Simone Manuel is from United States.
