a womens Lacrosse pocket has a net with four vertical leather strips, with string weaving in its place.
Mens lacrosse heads have pockets so that when you get hit its easier to hold the ball, but because women lacrosse is a none contact sport there is no pocket and cradling is different.
In womens lacrosse they dont have to where elbow pads or shoulder pads or a helmet but must where protective goggles. There is no difference in what goalies must where. Girls lacrosse sticks arent allowed to have any depth in the pocket and in mens(boys) lacrosse you can.
it is a pocket that uses leathers and nylon to create a pocket that doesn't bag like mesh
yes! as long as the pocket isn't to deep
With a mid-pocket, hard mesh.
just hit the pocket with a end of a baseball bat
yea i have 1 just like that
in girls lacrosse you have to have your stick at eye leval and the ball has to be seen above the head
I would try this website it helped me when i was trying to learn: http://www.teamstore.com/sm-how-to-string-your-lacrosse-pocket--bg-702312.html If you need a visual demonstration I'd suggest looking up how to string a lacrosse stick on youtube
1. Get the Mesh (pocket) of the stick wet with warm water 2. Place a tennis ball or lacrosse ball in the pocket 3. Put a butter knife between the side wall and the mesh
For a traditional pocket, they have no use in a mesh pocket unless it is an open sidewall goalie stick.
Restring it is easier but u can spray it with hairspray and let it dry with a ball in the pocket
I believe lacrosse was named lacrosse because the head of the stick (the pocket/net) is called la Crosse in french. France, England and Eastern Europe is where it originated out of and so the name stuck.
You can basically get it at any sports store..... but if that doesn't work try comlax.com or lacrosse unlimited.com good luck :)
first insert a lacrosse ball in ur lacrosse stick next put a pen threw ur mesh and just leave it for a while
it stretches the pocket and ends up becoming deeper. not good for the mesh at all.
hold the stick perfectly horizontal. if the top of the ball is visible from the bottom of the sidewall then your pocket is illegal
Well, i would recommend an "Amonte lacrosse stick" you can find those at typical lacrosse stores..... But most lacrosse sticks are good so.... i would choose one with kind of a fit pocket.
no the pocket is to big
Medium to deep
The two are very similar except precision pockets are often used on goalie lacrosse sticks, whereas runway pockets are used for field position sticks.
There is the Lucien Piccard 14k Gold Womens Pocket Watch which is very nice.
Grind your ball into the pocket. But make sure you don't make it too deep. Different leagues have different rules about how deep your pocket can be.
You will want a high pocket with three or four shooter strings at the very top.
