∙ 14y agoProbably Curlin, Big Brown is doubtful, as is Eight Belles, although if you really want one I'm sure people are customizing the racehorse models - check eBay, but they will be pricey!

Eight Belles came in 2nd after running the race of her life, which sadly was the last race of her life. Time was 2 minutes, 3 1/2 seconds. Just after crossing the wire second after Big Brown, Eight Belles collapsed after breaking her front ankles and had to be euthanized on the racetrack.

Such severe fractures to the ankles of both forelegs that she had to be euthanized at the track was what happened to Eight Belles [February 23, 2005 - May 3, 2008] at the 134th running of the Kentucky Derby. The beautiful grey filly placed second after Big Brown [foaled April 10, 2005]. Immediately and tragically, she then collapsed.

The first horse to die in the Derby was Eight Belles in 2008. She finished the race in second place. Eight Belles died after the race during cool-down by being euthanized because of compound fractures.
