Maybe it's running too rich.check the gear oil to see if it's clear or discolour.if it's discolour the seals in the gear section of the engine is bad and the gear oil will enter the piston chamber and it will foul the spark plug. this will kill the engine when you come to a idle or you're not using the correct spark plug
NGK BR9EG is the correct plug for a 2001 Yamaha YZ 125

i have a Yamaha yz125 94 i have a problem with the timing there is a good spark i have tryed turning the inside stator but isn't getting the spark at the right time i have redone piston, mains because it isn't timing up right it is also blowing the seal behind the flywheel and petrol is coming out i have tred a all the electrics of a 99 model to no avail it also kicks back when kicking over help
