A spiraling football will go further than a wobbling. The spiral movement will go further due to air. The spiral uses the air to move smoothly through as a wobbling football is all over the place so its actually using the air to slow down instead of moving smoothly.

a picture or video would be good for the audience, and if you know how to spiral the ball, demonstrate.

What makes a football spiral?

Let us assume that the 'football' is an American football, rather than the (nearly) spherical ball that is usually black and white, which is called a 'football' in most countries. The American football is made to spiral by the way that it is thrown. The ball is held with the fingers on one side and the thumb on the other side. As the throwing arm moves forward the thumb pushes the ball toward the fingers. This makes the ball roll along the fingers, making it rotate. When the ball is released, the rotation (the spin) continues. The spin stabilizes the ball, so that the pointed end is pointing in the direction of motion. This allows the ball to go farther than it would if the ball were tumbling.

Does throwing a football with the left or right handed effect a spiral pass?

No it does not. If you throwing it perfect. Alot of things affect a football spiral: If your running or not. If you use all the laces or not. Also If you left handed and throw it with you right hand it going to effect the outcome of a spiral. But if your left handed and throw it with your left its going to increase it. Wind conditions Make an outcome too. So alot of things change the outcome of a sprial or not

Will a spiralling motion football or a wobilling motion football go farther?

spiral!!it cuts through the air. that's why punts are not kicked end over end, but spiraled like a pass

What makes a football fly?

How forceful a player throws the ball: here's the equation:(Force = mass of football x acceleration due to gravity). The football flies because a spin is put on it. This spiral action makes it more aerodynamic and it will travel farther and straighter.

Why does a spiral travel further than a whobby ball?

A spiral travels farther because it doesn't have an unbalanced weight.

Why does the football spiral?

Just like a frisbee, if you dont have the spin action, you just lob it. It creates an airfoil as it spins and just like rifleing of a bullet, it makes the football more aerodynamic and it travels farther, straighter.

What would get pushed furthest a football or a javelin by wind?

Football thrown in a spiral

What does football have to do with aerodynamics?

You can throw a football in a regular spiral motion, underhand, or end over end.

Where can one find information about making spiral candles?

Information about making spiral candles can be obtained from the website called "CraftGossip" on the candlemaking page. Not only do they show you how spiral candles are made, they explain how they work.

What motion is throwing a football?

When a football is thrown most expect it to spiral through the air to its target as opposed to flipping over itself and missing its target completely or possibly getting picked off. Most just have to find their rhythm and what works best for them. But there are some who believe that if the football makes its target without any chance of it being intercepted then it could be thrown backwards for all they care.
