How do you question an official during a hockey game?

The official(s) (referee) are supposed to refrain from discussing any questions regarding penalty calls etc. with players. Those types of discussions should only take place between the Captain, Alternate Captains and/or the Coaching staff. If your captain believes there is an issue with any call, particularly one that can change the game like a penalty stroke or penalty shot, they should quietly ask the referee about it at an appropriate time, such as when time is next stopped or while preparations are being made for the play and the referee is not busy. If another player believes there is a problem, they should ask their captain to speak on their behalf.

It depends on the offensive penalty. If it's something like a holding the ball will go to the defense and the yards on the block in the back will back the defense up.

Does a soccer captain have the rights to question a refree?

That depends on how the captain goes about it. Keep in mind that no referee will ever change his desicion, NEVER EVER. So you have to ask yourself what is the point of approaching the referee at all? A captain doesn't really have the right, i'd word it more like he is afforded the luxury of approaching the referee. He or she can seek clarification on why a penalty was given however he must be very careful how he goes about it and he shouldn't ever question the referee's desicion only ask for clarification. The referee can simply dismiss his request for clarification and if the captain continues to push the issue he can be penalised.

Is it the role of a referee in volleyball to ensure that players are in the right position before startng?

That is only one of the roles of a volleyball referee. They also determine whether a ball is in bounds or out, call for lifts, call for being in the net, service errors, and some other small things like if the net meets standards to play with.

Was face mask grabbing always prohibited in football?

The rule can be broken down into flagrant (15 yard penalty) and non-flagrant (5 yard penalty). Obviously in a rough game, infractions do occur and if the referee feels that the face mask was grabbed inadvertently a five yard penalty may be called. If the referee feels that it was intentional, a 15 yard personal foul may be called. Usually in the flagrant variety you will see the player's head turn 90 degrees, you will see the player 'tackled' by the face mask or any other grabbing which really makes most people 'cringe' because it could break your neck.

What happens when a player crosses the blue line before the puck?

Yes he can. Yet if it is to start a fight or celebrate then it will most likely be called delay of game. if it is to yell or talk to referees then you will be okay. It is very much by the judgment of the referee to call something like that.

What is an assistant ref soccer?

They are one of the officials in soccer. There is only one referee on the pitch, but there are other officials. One is the assistant referee. They watch the game and may assist the referee by keeping in contact by radio. They can look after things like timing the match and dealing with the substitutions. If the referee has to come off and be replaced, like if they got injured, the assistant referee could take over.
