I wondered this myself! I found out the answer from a lady I was visiting with at my most recent visit to the nail salon while womens Water Polo was on the TV. Her sister played water polo. Her explanation was that the legged suits the swimmers wear are too constricting for the lateral leg movements the water polo players have to make. The suits they wear are not actually thongs but hi-cut one-piece suits designed for maximum movement. The reason their swimsuits ride up their backsides is because they are intentionally worn 2-3 sizes too small. The idea is to have the suit tight against the body so the opposite teams players can't grab ahold of the suit and produce those now-famous underwater exposure mishaps you see on TV. Apparently water polo is more violent than most people realize and teams will intentionally claw and grab at the opposite teams suits. Some players also wear their nails longer or wear acrylic nails to intensify this effect. If you've noticed, there have been quite a few nasty injuries in the pool.
So, those major wedgies you see are from the suits being too small and with the tighter fit causes the backs to ride up. You hardly ever see them trying to pull their suits out because they'd just go right back up there anyway. They just leave them there. And no, it certainly can't be comfortable but they don't seem to mind
To prevent their opponent from grabbing it. The less there is...the lower it is...the harder it is to get a hold of. Suites worn by water polo players are typically (or at least they used to be) made out of a rubberized material (instead of nylon/lycra...like most suits). This makes them slippery and also harder to grab.
No
they don't.
water polo is when the players work together to score and win the other team
You tread the water quickly with your legs and it propels you out of the water.
there has to be at least 7 including the goalie
Do they? No they don't, I have never seen that before.
water polo eat spagittie if there is a game tomorrow they can't eat junk any kind they have to eat healthy stuff
7, players a side 14 overall. 6 players and 1 goalie, with 4-6 subs
To be honest, the future of Water Polo does not look good. Each year since 2003, the number of water polo players globally has decreased by an average of 8500. This may be because of the reason that Water Polo is seen as a sport played by "queers", who enjoy wrestling other sopping wet men in thongs. Many ex-water polo players have revealed their fear of returning to public pools because of their scarred past, in which many were abused by fellow players. One water polo player has been labelled as a"perverted rabbit" after brutally "discreetly" abusing all the members on his water polo team.
It does give players an advantage such faster swimming speeds, more reach and big hands. However, not all water polo players are tall. I know a someone who was 3rd team all-american and she is barely over 5'6".
7 for each team including the goalie.
