Orange is the national colour of the Netherlands. This comes from the history of the Dutch people and the person that lead them into their independance. William I of Orange (also known as "William the Silent" and "Father of the Fatherland") organized the Dutch revolt against Spanish rule, which after the Eighty Years' War led to an independent Dutch state. William of Orange was befriended by Charles V, Holy Roman Emperor and his son Philip.

The flag of Prince of Orange is orange/white/blue.

Because, the man who really created The Netherlands as it is now is called: Willem van Oranje-Nassau. Oranje is the dutch word for Orange, it actually grown out as a tradition.

Also, the flag of Holland Red-White-Blue earlier was Orange-White-Blue.

If you watch Football (or soccer if you are an american.) Holland's out shirt always is tinted Red-White-Blue.

The Netherlands' national football team is famous for wearing a bright orange jersey when playing home. This is because orange is the historic national color of the Dutch, originating from the coat-of-arms of the Netherlands' founding father, William of Orange-Nassau. The red band on their national flag was originally orange as well.

I suppose you mean "Queen's Day" since there is no "Orange Day" in the Netherlands. On Queen's Day people often wear a lot of orange, since that is the colour of the Netherlands due to the surnames of the first Kings (Willem of Orange etc.)
